Museums, archives, and libraries will be critical in helping later generations understand our current moment in regard to immigration, nationalism, and policy. But searching the MW Archive for papers about immigration comes up very thin. Since 1997, there have only been two MW papers published covering projects related to contemporary immigration stories: Moving Here, Staying Here: the Canadian Immigrant Experience, from 2007, and The Global Gathering Place: Exploring the Ethnocultural Diversity of Canada on the Web, from 1998.

Organisers would love to fill the void at MW19. Among many other topics, they are seeking proposals about the subject of immigration and immigration stories for MW19.

The Call for Proposals for papers, workshops, professional forums, and how-to sessions is open through September 30, 2018. You may propose demonstrations and lightning talks through December 31, 2018.
